Rules of the Do Jong

Remove your shoes before entering the do jong (training hall).

Acknowledge the flags with a kyong yeh (bow) when entering or leaving the do jong.

Be on time for class; if you can’t avoid being late, you must ask permission from the instructor to attend the class in progress.

Never contradict the word of your instructor.

If you must eat or drink with your do boke (uniform) on, remove your dee (belt) and place it around your neck.

Your instructor will be addressed as Master Williams, or Sah Bum Neem (Master Instructor).

Address black belt holders as Mr., Miss, Mrs., Ms., sir, ma’am, or by Korean title, as appropriate.

Show respect to your seniors and love to your juniors.

Maintain a proper appearance and good grooming. You should be clean and well groomed, with trimmed fingernails and toenails. Your do boke should be clean, neat and in good condition.

The following are not permitted in the do jong:

Jewelry

Food

Gum

Profanity

Unruly behavior (unnecessary talking or laughter, etc.)
